Establishing a mid-rise green building as a viable form for a downtown office building; The Atrium gives weight to urban fit, sustainability, and occupant well-being as well as to profitability. Turning an entrance lobby into both an environmental control strategy that saves energy and a semi-public urban room is helping to revitalize an urban district. This project has pursued LEED Gold Certification in part through the use of passive energy saving and daylight strategies, made possible by the incorporation of a 7-storey internal atrium.
