2017 Judges’ Tour

KEN FEATHERBY

Ken Featherby is a property manager and leasing agent with NAI Commercial. His real estate portfolio consists of over 25 commercial, industrial and retail properties in the greater Victoria area. His understanding of owners’ and tenants’ requirements helps him to successfully negotiate leases and renewals that benefit all parties involved. He brings a wide array of personnel to ensure the job is done in a timely and efficient manner. Ken presently serves as chair on the Victoria Real Estate Board Commercial Executive Council.

VINCENT KRYNSKI

Vincent Krynski has over 32 years of proven success in building profitable early to mid stage businesses with an international scope in operational, transactional and venture capital roles. His functional expertise includes building high-quality teams, project management, business development and strategic sales and marketing as well as finance at both ends of the corporate lifecycle: raising capital and managing exits.

MISHELLE MARTIN

Mishelle Martin completed an Urban Land Economics Diploma in 2007. She worked as a residential appraiser for 6 years before joining the D.R. Coell & Associates team in July 2013. In January 2015 Mishelle became a Partner in the firm. Mishelle is a designated AACI, P.App and CRA appraiser with the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC); a professional member of the Real Estate Institute of BC and an associate member of the Victoria Real Estate Board. Mishelle specializes in development properties.

JASON MIDDLETON

Jason Middleton was born and raised in Victoria, BC and has been in the Property Management/Real Estate industry since 1992. Jason holds all three categories of licenses issued by the Real Estate Council, sits on the Commercial Division for the Victoria Real Estate Board and is the current chair of LandlordBC. He is the President & Managing Broker of Cornerstone Properties Ltd., which has been a family owned business since 1987. Cornerstone has 35 employees and currently manages about 120 buildings consisting of Commercial, Apartment and Strata Corporations.

LUKE MILLS

Luke Mills is a senior partner at Megson FitzPatrick Insurance services, specializing in construction, realty and not-for-profit risk management solutions. He holds his Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation, as well as his Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) and Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) designations. Luke is also very active in the Victoria community, volunteering his time to be on the board of organizations such as Power to Be.

KELSEY YOUNG

Kelsey Young is an experienced solid waste industry professional with a background in accounting. She works alongside her family as a commercial account representative for the Alpine Group. In addition she is a Director of Sky Environmental Ltd, which specializes in contaminated soil remediation and polarized light microscopy analysis. Growing up in the Westshore, Kelsey has experienced accelerated growth and development firsthand. Passionate about recycling and with a background in waste collection services, she has successfully assisted developers and residents to create efficient garbage and recycling collection systems across BC.

Historically speaking

The Commercial Building Awards were started in 1991 by a group of REALTORS® who were concerned that commercial development within the Greater Victoria area was not receiving the recognition it deserved.

The Commercial Building Awards competition is recognized among architects, builders and developers and the real estate community as a prestigious event dedicated to the advancement of excellence in construction and design. Because of its success, the Victoria Commercial Building Awards program is now being emulated by various real estate boards throughout BC and across Canada.

The Commercial Division of the Victoria Real Estate Board is dedicated to advancement in quality developments and to encouraging a better environment within our community and is proud to sponsor this annual competition.
